A vintage of abundant sunshine

It is a vintage with a very fast growth cycle, the weather is beautiful and everything goes very fast. Every 3 weeks we get storm rainfall so the vines are working at a 100%. No diseases in the vineyard, except in a few villages showered by heavy rainfall in Cote de Nuits. Harvest starts late in August to finish at the beginning of September. It is an atypical, very ripe vintage, wines are very rich with extra silky tannins. The wines in bottle became slightly austere, as the 2005 did a few year ago. They will be great wines to enjoy in a few years, or already now if decanted.
